The story how Jack Bowers and and a friend circled Australia in 1929 as one of the very first by a Harley-Davidson-Sidecar. Jack and Frank made their own roads and shot their own meals on the road with outfit. A wonderful adventure story.Travel-Report. English. Softcover. 134 pages. Bear Face Books
B.T.: I found Jack Bowers in 1999 and wrote him a letter. His daughter told me that he read my letter and "Jack was waiting for me". But Jack died in august 1999. Only some months before I wanted to see him in Australia.

FRAZIER, Gregory
"New Zealand by Motorcycle"
.  € 20,90. English.
TG. Greg is a motorcycle World-A-Round-Traveller and rode four times in NZ. This book is targeted for the motorcyclist wanting to ride a motorcycle in one of  the most enjoyable motorcycling countries in the  world. Organized tour ? Independent travel ? Renting a motorcycle? How to secure a motorcycle ? (rent, purchase, ship or?). Paperwork requirements. Personal equipment. Accommodations. Food. Costs. Camping or hotels? Connections with other motorcyclists. Descriptions of the best roads. New Zealand is one of the most "motorcycle friendly" countries in the world. Each year motorcyclists from around the world travel to New Zealand to experience some of the globe's best motorcycling. Greg saw New Zealand from the northern most tip at mystical Cape Reinga to Bluff at the southern end and has seen some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, from jungles to the Southern Alps, and all this in a small size. If the motorcyclist has a limited number of options for motorcycle adventure on the globe, New Zealand by motorcycle should be close to the top of the list. With a lot of B & W photographs, illustrations  and hundreds of tips. 120 pp
Note from B.T.: From all about 10.000 Mc-World-Travellers I know most said: "New Zealand would be the first country I would like to live"

SHIRLEY-RIX and Brian Rix  www.aussiesoverland.com
"Two for the road" Aus $30.00. US $23.75. € 17.95 . English.
TR. 56671 km. 27 countries. One dream. Roads are for journeys, not destinations…In 2003 Melbourne couple Shirley Hardy-Rix and her husband Brian Rix fulfilled a lifelong ambition of motorcycling across the world. In an incredible 350-day journey, they would do everything they'd ever dreamed of as well as getting much more than they'd bargained for. Crossing 27 countries and covering 56,671 kilometres, they raced around the Isle of Man motorcycle circuit on Mad Sunday, survived Iran's traffic and travelled through Taliban strongholds under armed guard. Shirley and Brian's story is an epic account of the ups and downs of seeing the world on two wheels - from the frustrations of potholes and flat tyres, to the splendour of some of Europe and Asia's most awe-inspiring sights.
Full of terrific anecdotes, down-to-earth humour and practical advice, Two for the Road is a must for anyone who's ever imagined escaping the daily grind to experience the romance of the open road. 328 pp. 2 maps. 35 colour- pictures. Paperback: 15,5 cm wide x 23 cm high. .
Publisher: Pan Macmillan. Australia. 2005. ISBN 14050 3643 5.

Hülsmann, Andreas und Jörg Becker
"Spurensuche".  € 09,90

Taschenbuch. 192 Seiten zzgl. 8 Seiten mit Farbfotos
